Sweet and Spicy Bourbon Spare Ribs

Ingredients:
2 pounds spare ribs, your choice
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup white onion, diced small, but not minced
6 garlic cloves, minced
1 ¼ cups ketchup
¼ cup Bourbon
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon soy
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
¼ cup chili sauce
4 tablespoons brown sugar
4 tablespoons molasses
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon hot sauce

Directions for Ribs:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F,

Wash ribs and remove the skin from the back. At this point you can then cut them apart or leave then whole if you are grilling them. Place in a pan and bake in the oven for 40 minutes.

In the meantime, add butter to a sauce pan and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent and fragrant. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer on low for about 20 minutes.

Pull ribs from oven and brush on sauce. Continue to bake and baste ribs heavily with sauce every 10 minutes, until ribs have cooked for a total of 55 to 60 minutes.

Serve with a dish of sauce and a crisp salad.
