Sticky Bat Wings

1/2 cup honey
2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 Tablespoons rice wine vinegar
1/4 cup water
4 Tablespoons ketchup
4 cloves fresh garlic, finely minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 quart vegetable oil for deep frying
4 to 5 pounds chicken wings
1 1/2 to 2 cups all-purpose flour

Combine the first 7 ingredients in a sauce pan on medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly and immediately reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes or until mixture thickens and bubbles. Remove from heat and set aside.

Pour oil a third (or slightly less) of the way up a deep fryer or heavy bottom pot suitable for deep frying.Heat oil to 365 to 375 degrees F. Add flour, salt, pepper and garlic to a bowl and stir. Add chicken to bowl and coat well; dusting excess flour from chicken. Add wings to hot oil and fry wings in small batches for about 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Drain wings on paper towels. Add wings to a bowl and sticky sauce over. Stir wings around to coat well. Place on a platter and add spooky garlic heads and pretend stakes.
Happy Haunting.
